DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY — VILLAGE OF BALD HEAD ISLAND

The Village of Bald Head Island provides medical, police, fire and underwater rescue services through its combined Department of Public Safety (DPS). The operations building/fire station is located on Edward Teach Extension (Off of Muscadine Wynd), Bald Head Island.

• Paramedic-level service is available 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
• Transport to an appropriate medical facility is available by ferry or helicopter. 
• A water-rescue boat is onsite. 
• A special big-wheel beach chair is available for special needs individuals to use.
