There are several clubs and activities on Bald Head Island. Some are sponsored by BHA's Socialization, Education and Recreation (SER) Committee.

Smith Island Art League:
Established in 1993, the Smith Island Art League is a nonprofit organization comprised of artists 18 years of age and older who reside, own property or work full time on Bald Head Island. The Smith Island Art League (SIAL) currently has over 20 members working in a variety of mediums such as photography, painting, jewelry, sculpture and needlework. The League holds two shows a year with one during Memorial Day Weekend and the othr during Thanksgiving Weekend. The Thanksgiving show is the league's annual benefit show with a percentage of the proceeds going to one of the nonprofit organizations on the island such as the BHI Conservancy, Old Baldy Foundation or the public Service Auxiliary. BHI Artisans:
This group of property owners and/or family members (18 years or older) who share an interest in encouraging creativity and artisitc cameraderie while promoting individual and group endeavors. At times we will meet to share ideas and/or resources, but most communication will be via e-mail. There are no dues. They pay table fees when they sign up for an event. The table fees range from $5 to $10 per table, depending on where the event is held. Everyone handles their own cash at events.Events held at the Bald Head Association Hall are typically Easter, 4th of July and Labor Day weekends. Contact the bhiartisans@gmail.com.
Croquet Club:
The BHI Club provides golf, tennis, swimming, a fitness center, restaurants, and last but not least Croquet. The BHI Croquet Club is a subset of the BHI Club.
We have 3 greenswards and a "Multi-Purposed Complex" that can be converted into a 4th when needed. There will be 4 local tournaments and 8 Scramblers in 2013, plus we will host the annual BHI Invitational and the Joust with the Pinehurst Club this year.
In addition we support a part time Croquet Pro, Jeff Soo, who will be on the island seven times this year to teach technique, strategy and rules.

Garden Club:
The Bald Head Island Garden Club was organized in 1993 as a no frills garden club whose primary goal is to share knowledge, resources and gardening experiences relative to the environment of our island. Membership is open to all property owners. The meetings are held September to June, monthly at various locations. They have guest speakers and take field trips that are pertinent to Bald Head Island (BHI). On the 1st Monday in December they gather at the Public Safety Building and assembles wreath's from fresh greens for BHI public buildings and nonprofits. Bridge Club:
Join them every Wednesday at 1:30pm at the BHI Club. You must be a member of the BHI Club to play bridge, and you must call one day in advance to reserve your seat at 910-457-7300.
Knitters:
Held at the Association Center. Currently canceled due to COVID-19.
Ladies Bible Study:
Held the first and third Tuesdays, 10:15am to 11:15am, at the Village Chapel.
Mah Johng:
American Mah Jong players meet Thursdays from 1pm to 4pm.
Men's Bible Study:
Held the second and fourth Fridays, 8am to 9am, at the Association Center.
